  • Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's Flow Theory

    The Flow is:

"...a state of concentration so completely focused that it amounts to absolute absorption in an activity. During the flow experience your whole body, mind, and consciousness become ordered and harmoniously directed. When you are in flow everyday experience becomes a moment by moment opportunity for joy and self-fulfillment. Feelings of chaos, indecision and anxiety disappear. Self-consciousness and worries recede. You have a single goal. In these exceptional moments whatever one does becomes worth doing for its own sake; living becomes its own justification. In the harmonious focusing of physical and psychic energy, life finally comes into its own.

    What Seth Says:

"You may know that intense immersion into any particular activity results in a momentary loss, or seeming loss, of ego identity, in that the activity and the personality become one. In such a state the personality is free from the limitations of a closed system concept. Identity is not really lost though you may seem to forget yourself, but the props of identity are lost. It is in this same sort of state that the most significant and beneficial inner sense experiments take place."
